• The paper we presented at IMC 2010 in Melbourne talks about our findings up to mid-2010 in great detail. We also have a follow-up paper that discusses DNS-specific findings in more detail.
• The HostView project tries to automatically detect performance degradations that affect your online experience. The tool monitors your service quality continuously and allows you to provide immediate feedback as problems occur.
• The HomeNet Profiler conducts a suite of tests that focuses on the home network. It's a downloadable Java application, and can thus test things a bit more comprehensively than our applet. In addition, a HomeNet Profiler execution includes a Netalyzr run as well. It's great research — try it out!
• Jim Gettys is leading an initiative to fight "bufferbloat", i.e., overly large buffers that cause time-sensitive traffic to be delayed significantly in the presence of high-volume background data transfers. Take a look a Jim's introductory article and the role of Netalyzr's findings here.
